CITY CENTRAL
In December 2016, the Ponca City Development Authority (PCDA) was gifted the Frontier Federal Bank building, located at the corner of 5th Street and Central Avenue in Ponca City, Oklahoma. At the time, the building was only 16% occupied, with outdated facilities in need of major renovations. Understanding these challenges, the former owners included a $200,000 donation to address immediate repairs necessary for tenants to continue operations. With support from the City of Ponca City, PCDA secured additional funding through a federal Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant and state grants, bringing the total investment to $1.375 million. These renovations transformed the building into a dynamic hub featuring the region’s largest conference space, a shared workspace, ADA-compliant restrooms, and other essential upgrades. Under the terms of the EDA grant, PCDA will retain ownership of the building until at least 2037.
City Central, now a vibrant part of downtown Ponca City, serves as a modern and creative office space designed to foster business growth and community collaboration. The facility offers a variety of spaces tailored to diverse needs, including The Link Co-Working Space, which provides flexible, low-overhead options ideal for entrepreneurs and small businesses, with weekly, monthly, and daily rentals available. Additionally, City Central features The Summit Conference Center, the largest event venue in the region, customizable for events ranging from proms and weddings to large trainings and festivals. Other amenities include Central Fare, an inviting green space for gatherings and food events, and the Redbud Room, suitable for meetings or as a breakout room.
