In December of 2016 Ponca City Development Authority was donated the Frontier Federal Bank building on the corner of 5th and Central Ave in Ponca City, Oklahoma. It was at about 16% occupancy for office space tenants, and the building was outdated and in need of major renovations. The owners of the building knew this and included $200k with the donation to take care of immediate needs that the building tenants could not continue working in the building without. PCDA, with the help of the City of Ponca City, applied for a federal Economic Development Administration grant and was awarded that as well as grant money from the State of Oklahoma for a total of $1.375M. The renovations included the largest regional conference space, a shared workspace, ADA bathrooms and other necessary improvements to building. The terms of this EDA grant include that PCDA will own this building for 20 years after the award date, which would be 2037.
