Weekly Updated December 12, 2019

MERRY MEETINGS..… was the theme this week at PCDA. Staff traveled to state meetings, local meetings, networking meetings and our very own PCDA Board meeting was this week. There was food, there was discussions and a general feeling of good will on the subject of the business outlook for our area. Staff traveled to El Reno to reach out to newly unemployed employees who are having to job hunt in the weeks before Christmas, to share jobs and careers available in Ponca City. Census 2020 is ramping up outreach by participating in several Christmas Parades throughout Kay County in Tonkawa, Ponca City and Newkirk. So basically, PCDA did a lot of talking, and listening, this week. We also took some pictures and since they are worth a thousand words, enjoy! Make sure to open your Weekly Update next week for a very special Holiday Message.

Christmas parades all over the county were a great way to publicize the upcoming Census 2020 count. So many children of all ages. Many below the age of 10. These kids count, as do all people living in Kay County, for $1675 a year in funding for school programs including free and reduced lunches, after school programming, healthcare and housing. Make sure to count all the kids.
 You count for Kay County.
HELPING OTHER COMMUNITIES.... ..this holiday season came in the form of heading to El Reno to talk to 808 people who lost their job last week. Thank you to Garaga for hanging with Ponca Works staff to man the booths and recruit people to Ponca City.
