Weekly Update October 11, 2019

CITY CENTRAL..... .is well, busy central this month. With 11 events throughout the building in October, one of them being the regular PCDA Board of Trustees Meeting yesterday morning, staff have been moving and grooving more than usual. The drop in temperatures this week was the icing on the proverbial cake. We like cake. And brownies.
This week, the PCDA staff report was full of the events happening at City Central. Thanks to Young Life Ponca City for having their banquet in the Summit and Grand Lake Mental Health for utilizing the Gravity Room as their training facility all week. Main Street has their awards banquet this week and City of Ponca City Employee Training is next week. Outside of City Central, The Made in America show envoys (pictured below) were all present to share their experiences at this trade show and people who they met. An information presentation was given about Census 2020 and its importance to showcasing Ponca City’s economic vitality over the next 10 years. Buildings and land were briefly mentioned as well as the 16 new companies, 109 existing companies and 69 regional partners PCDA contacted in September.
And our best news was the addition of Tristen Starkey as the Office Administration Manager for PCDA. Her first day was Wednesday and for her second day, she was introduced to the board meeting process and passed with flying colors. Welcome Tristen to the PCDA family.
Welcome to our newest PCDA staff, Tristen Starkey. She is a true Ponca Works grad. Find out more about Tristen on the Ponca Works blog post this week.

Made in America Show
Oklahomans have to stick together. Ponca City and regional manufacturers were showcased at the Made in America show last week. And it was a beacon for other Oklahomans to find their tribe. Angie Myers, who presented at this weeks IENetwork stopped by the booth to snap a pic with Laurence Beliel, PCDA; Janet Schwabe from the OK Manufacturing Alliance; Johnny Thornburgh from Pioneer Technology Center and Dawn Brakey, the OK Bid Assistance Network (OBAN) representative in our area. Tom & Karen White from H&W Farms in Wyandotte, OK also found the booth & Gatehands picked up a new customer. You're welcome!
