Weekly Update November 8, 2019

THE ANNOUNCEMENT.......of Archein Aerospace last week was a truly wonderful thing. The PC streets were abuzz with talk of this company, the economic impact to Ponca City and of course, looking forward to welcoming the employees to the community. And this type of project could not have happened without the partnerships in this community and in the state. As Thanksgiving inches closer and closer, it is customary to give thanks for this month of National Gratitude and PCDA would like to give thanks for all the partners which assist with the economic development here in Ponca City starting with thanks to the City of Ponca City for their guidance, their support and their ability to be sustainable. This includes the Airport, Emergency Management, Energy, The Library, Parks & Recreation, The Police and Fire Departments, Water/Wastewater,Traffic Engineering and all the other departments at City Hall. When PCDA staff have meetings and discussions with companies, these are areas of interest whether the business is looking for a new home or growing a current location in Ponca City. Staff at PCDA works with several of these departments, and have many of their staff on speed dial. Lately, Technology and Development Services have been our best friends with City Central, The Hanger renovations for Archein and Census 2020. So, when you pay that utility bill or sign up for fiber to your home, give that City rep a little extra smile and say thanks from PCDA.

Congratulations to Winterrowd Talley Architects Inc. for receiving the Peoples Choice Award for the design on the PCPS Concert Hall at the Oklahoma American Institute of Architects (AIA) awards ceremonies. Such a great project!
PCDA Staff attended a Manufacturing Summit held in Broken Arrow last week and it was a packed house. Because, little secret, manufacturing is a big deal to Oklahoma. Many small communities such as Ponca City love their manufacturers and there was a lotta love in the room. Business cards and info exchanged and some B2B networking done.
COMMUNITY MAKES... ..the world go round. And this week, round and round we went. Keep reading this weeks Ponca Works blog for all the deets.
