Forward Together: Ponca City Development Authority
THIS WEEK..... PCDA wishes, hopes, prays and sends out good vibes to all: Have a very happy Easter celebration. Fair warning, next year the Weekly Update falls on the most fabulous of days, April 1st! This gives staff a year to come up with a doozy prank. This is your only warning and you heard it here. Now, about Easter weekend. Be safe, even those with their vaccination cards in hand, and remember to space out and enjoy your time with family. April flowers are blooming so you have a great backdrop whether you are an egg hunter or Easter bonnet wearer; all the best for this holiday as we emerge from pandemic hibernation. Check out the upcoming events (YAY upcoming events) and staff will be back with Ponca City happenings, economically speaking, next week.
LIGHTING PROJECT
FInishing off the lighting project at City Central required some interesting and specialized equipment to reach the outside can lights. Check out this rig - we just called it the insect (at rest left; extended on the right). Can you tell why? The LED lighting project at City Central is being completed with a grant from the State of Oklahoma . A lighting audit prior to this project qualified the building for DEEP Rebates from Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority. If you own a building and would like to update the lighting and save costs, check out these two programs.
CONGRATULATIONS
The PoHi Tip Off Club held their banquet this week at City Central to honor JV and Varsity Basketball players at the High School. Lots of tall people in the room. Great to have these types of small events again in The Summit. Capacity is currently 150 people or less (1/4 capacity) until June 1, 2021.
