WEEKLY UPDATE      September 7th, 2007

DEAL FLOW ...that’s the term insiders use nowadays ostensively to show how busy they are but really to show they know the lingo. We’re up with that and will text you the 411 on PCDA’s deal flow for the last 24/7. We began working with another out of state company interested in Bob, (our own shorthand). Sent two, post handshake agreements to our legal eagles this week on projects you’ll hear about soon. Toured another company through another potential facility, met with another company thinking big and thinking Ponca City, sent two other companies outlines of potential partnerships, provided future forecasts for economic growth to the city for infrastructure planning and pursued two other out of state companies. PCDA TRUSTEES TO MEET NEXT THURSDAY ...the regular meeting of the PCDA Board of Trustees will be held next Thursday. The agenda includes a potential investment with regional partners in a mobile skills training center which is a NASCAR like truck used to train people at company locations and market manufacturing careers to young people. A discussion of a specific initiative to recruit workforce will also be held as well as a report on a meeting with a housing developer. There will be the usual administrative stuff, a closed session reviewing 12 projects that are moving through the PCDA pipeline, (the deal flow). CAN’T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG ...fortunately, that’s only the plea in LA cause we do get along here. PCDA shared workforce intelligence gleaned from a recent trip to SE Texas with our workforce partners this week in two meetings. We were also invited by the City to help with a street issue, while other partners provided information to PCDA on an upcoming meeting with a housing developer. Finally, PCDA and Pioneer Tech continued to seek additional funding for the Mobile Skills thing, (see above) which really needs an easier name. 212 LEADERSHIP 2 DAYS AFTER 9/11 ON 9/13 ...maybe we over did the numbers thing but the idea is to get motivated! The Chamber’s Business Council, in connection with Pioneer Technology Center will host 212 Leadership next Thursday from 11:30 to 1:00 at the Chamber office, ($10 per person includes lunch). The workshop is designed to help you find your inner cheerleader and get fired up about your job or business. Call 765.4400 to RSVP. END OF THE BEGINNING ...we can’t help but wonder why announcements are treated as the end of a project. That’s when the work begins. To that end, PCDA held a mandatory pre-bid conference this week for the Encompass Tool and Bob parking lot projects, we dropped off more paperwork with Encompass Tool and Sykes, continued to work with Host Analytics on attracting the employees they need to Ponca City, (ditto with the UML) and more.
