SHOW ME THE MONEY ...Venture Capital money that is. In Tulsa this week, Oklahoma Equity Partners held a workshop/competition for technology companies looking to attract money from venture capitalists. The two-day workshop had two goals: helping budding entrepreneurial companies define their focus, goals and needs to grow their ideas/companies into viable businesses and letting pre-picked companies present/compete for money from venture capital groups. Twelve (12) companies presented on Wednesday to a panel of venture capitalists. One of the companies presenting was from our neck of the woods, Blackwell Plastic Solutions Inc. We wish all of them luck in stumping for those all important funds, and best of luck to our neighbors in Blackwell. AHHHH ITALY ...THE PASTA, THE OLIVE OIL, THE MANUFACTURING? ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK...WHAT'S YOUR BIG IDEA? ...February 24 through March 3, 2007 is "Entrepreneurship Week…What's your BIG IDEA?" sponsored by the Kauffman Foundation. Pioneer Technology Center will be hosting 2 workshops on March 2nd to open the door for Ponca City's 16-25 year olds and find out about their BIG IDEAs. The University Center and ConocoPhillips will be hosting a "bring your own lunch" program at the Atrium geared toward the 30+ entrepreneurial crowd on the same day.
