THIS SCHEDULE IS KILLING US...it was a shortened week but the activity remained as brisk as the weather. PCDA reached an agreement on a small expansion project that will go to the PCDA Board of Trustees next week, (see below). This is a manufacturing expansion that will net about ten jobs. In economic development, it's called a performance based agreement but PCDA likes to think of it as a "Put up or shut up" agreement where the company receives nothing unless they do what they said they would do, (new hires) at which time, they will get reimbursed for a limited percentage of the expansion costs. We also waited ever so patiently this week for three other agreements sitting on other corporate desks. In addition, we reviewed two new leads, visited with three local businesses, worked with five others, helped our partners at Pioneer Tech on a personnel search, set up a site tour for a company and set up a meeting in Oklahoma City on the widening of U.S. 177 between Ponca City and Stillwater. We also took a breather to gain valuable Insight into this week's footbowl Fiesta. Caucus on!

THE NEW US...at least electronically. PCDA celebrated the New Year by launching our new web site. It's designed to have a new, crisp, younger look. It's important to keep web sites looking dynamic to keep people coming back. Check it out at www.goponca.com. There are still some links and options that are not fully operational, (to be completed later this month). Please take a look. If you like it, let us know. If you don't, blame it on Bob Stoops.

BY THE NUMBERS...the 2008 edition of "Ponca City by the Numbers" will be unveiled at the World Famous Ponca City Economic Development Conference on February 29th. This publication has the latest, greatest statistics on Ponca City and the Ponca City economy. Too late for Christmas, it will still be an excellent gift for that special someone or organization that needs stats and current demographics on Ponca City. It will also be on line at goponca.com

A BUILDING WE WILL GO...two PCDA building projects are underway as you read this: the installation of a parking lot at Bob and the Encompass Tool building. The weather has held up the parking lot somewhat while the Encompass plant is completing design standards. Look for sticks in the air on that one this winter while the parking lot should be finished soon.

ANNUAL REVIEW...PCDA's annual report to the boss, (you!) was included in the January Chamber of Commerce newsletter. The 2006-2007 PCDA Report Card lists 340 jobs that PCDA was actively involved in bringing, growing and retaining in Ponca City, (43 attracted, 247 expanded and 50 retained. PCDA only counts jobs in which we had a direct role). The annual wages from these jobs is $8,486,400. Since 2003, PCDA has worked 1,506 jobs.
